Stupid question but still gonna ask it. Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not you can swap the heads on the vq35de engine with the heads of another vq motor? Was wondering if it would be a direct bolt on affair or what.....

Yeah, I don't see your logic here.

It was just an idea that popped into my head that i thought he might as well ask and see what happens. Sometimes, on some engines, you can swap heads. I know this cause I've read on it but on other cars. I was just curious about the VQ model specifically.

Mostly hondas. They always have Frankenstein motors.

so then no such luck for the VQ in this department. Was just a question. Would have made a nice cheap upgrade though.

Here's the issue. Honda made quite a few motors with the same displacement or with interchangeable heads.

Nissan on the other hand has had the VQ line for 13 (?) years now and they just keep improving it. There are 4 variants to the VQ35 3 RWD setups and 1 FWD setup (to my knowledge).

The are powered in this order:

VQ35DEVQ35DE Rev-UpVQ35HR

They made quite a few changes amongst those 3 engines. If you could some how adapt the HR's intake, that would be great, but I highly doubt it's worth the trouble.
