As the title says i'm doin a head swap into my Stanza (sleeper ) and i want to try and keep my stock wiring and ecu. I noticed that the "e" distributor fits just fine into the "de" head and was curious if this would work before i went through the time and labor only to be stopped cause of this.

Cool it fit right in? Sounds like it will work perfectly to me, as long as your rotor ends up in proper position depending on the cam notch. The exhaust cam on the de spins same speed as on your old e you should have no problems.

btw. nice work, definately "sleeper"

Does the "de" exhaust cam spin at the same speed as the "e"

not trying to give you a hard time but ARE YOU SURE THAT THEY SPIN THE SAME SPEED? If you are, right my anxiety will hit the roof. cause that mean less time and money will be needed.

They spin at exact same speed in relation to the crankshaft speed, yes.

The cam shaft spins at one half crank revolution on all engins..... sometimes the intake cam it turned by the crank and then the exuast cam is turned by the intake, wich will make them turn in diff directions to that it could maby turn the distributer backwards(realy not sure about that just that if the cams spin in diff directions on a de and there is only one direction on an e there wuld be a chance if it was powerd by the exaust cam) however I am almost positive that on the DE both cams are turned by the chain in the same direction, so every thing should be spinning at the right speed in the right direction...
