Yeah so I was just BSin around in the garage and put my head bolts into the block just to see how they fit aaaand something is off, I think. The middle 2 bolts are out farther than all the rest. Is this normal? Ive heard alot of people talk about how important it is to have clean holes before you put the bolts in, so Im being careful. There is oil in some of the holes and thats it. Also, do any of these bolts stick out of the block on the bottom to where I would have to put thread sealer on them? Thanks fellas.

That should be ok. Mine were like that and all i did was put some moly lube on the threads and torqued the head back on.

Just w8 for IlikeMy240sx to respond he should have a definite answer.

I don't mean to thread jack but, Morph what are the torque specs for the ARP head studs on the Sr? I can't find the information anywhere and I don't have the little sheet that came with them.

Def not fsm. Do stages of 20 ft lbs then loosen then 40 then loosen 60 then loosen then 80 if im not mistaken.

yeah mine was not perfeclt at level either. You can try to get as much oil out as possible but of all the SRs that Ive worked on with ARPs, none of them lined up perfectly even.

Anyways, Lube them up nicely with ARP lube or any nice quality moly lube and torque in the same order as FSM (inside out) but go in 20 ftlb increments to75~80 ft lb.

So with the first sequence, to 20 ft lb then repeat the same sequence with 40 ft lb and so on.
