hey guysi ha a sohc that is getting all mew gaskets right now, im thinking turbo next summer. i bought arp head studs off ebay, and when they came, the box says its for a saturn 1.9l

i put in 2 studs(went in just fine) and dropped the head on w/ no head gasket, and imo, the studs go not come far enough out of the holes. i am able to put the washer on, and the 12pt nut, but the nut only spins half way down befor it bottoms out on the washer. again, NO HG.

am i effed??MAtt

heres some advice. dont buy head studs off ebay. Or try to send those ones back. If you get really pissed at them they will almost for sure refund your purchase or send you the right ones. threaten them with bad feedback thats what i did when i bought a pocket bike. he offered to give me full money back and he will even pay for shipping. I didnt end up shipping it back cuz I was tied up. thats a project for this summer.

you never know if they are genuine. you can always get an arp box and stick some no name ones off a saturn in the box.

the description has the part # right, it is the same as the one that is on he box they sent me, but the model is wrong. on the ad, it say for ka24, on the box saturn 1.9l

luckily, they have a phone number, and i will be on it first thing tomorrow. only issus is i have opened the package and did not realize it was not for a ka until i had them installed.

imo, they cant give me a hard time about opening the box becasue they sent me the wrong s***. its not like i ordered the wrong s***.

it looks like the people i oreded from on ebay are advertisers here. injectedperformance.

also, 3 other sites say that the part number for ka24 studs is 165-5401. that is the part number on my box, but the description on my box says saturn 1.9l

the ka uses the same ones as the saturn 1.9L , I freaked out just like you when I ordered my arp ones...they are both the same part numbers, so calm down and build your motor already...lol

ya, in doing more research oj performance sells ka24e studs, which i will assume are only slightly longer. i have decided to keep the ones i have, and try a little something. im pretty sure i can get them to work to my liking. as it sits now, the nuts will only thread halfway onto the studs, and thats not good enough for me.
