I'm looking to pick up an S14 and plan to have it as a track car. I've heard the head room isn't generous, I'm 6' 1". . .add that with a helmet and will I have issues??

I am 5.10. With the helmet I have some headroom, I would think that at 6.1 you mite be touching the top of that car with the helmet, but still enough to move your head around.

...dont get a sunroof...I test drove some S14's with sunroofs and my hair always brushed the ceiling. In my S14 w/o sunroof, I have yet to touch the roof. I think I could wear a helmet with no problem.

I am about 6'1" or 6'2" and just bought a S14 without a sunroof and have no problems with headroom. I Probably have 1 to 2 inches of clearance. Depends kinda on how you sit in your seat though, but you shouldn't have a problem.

Definatlely get one without a sunroof though.

6'4 and a 95 S14

Headroom is allright, my head doesnt really touch the top, but i dont have a sunroof and my seat is all the way back with a slight recline. If you get an aftermarket seat sometimes that will give you more headroom...

Without a sunroof, got it. Was that an option on the 97-98 SE's? I'm hoping so.

Not really sure, mine is a 95 240sx, you might be able to find out on auto.consumerguide.com (don't type the www. part, just auto.consumerguide.com). < They have tons of info, I recemend this site to everyone if u don't already know about it.

BTW, when you get to that site, just go to the search box (upper right) and type the year and "240sx" and you'll get a long list of very helpful info.

240sx was manufactured in Japan. IMO the average height of Japanese is short. But does it have anythign to do with this? they were exporting the car...

If you fabricate a non-adjustable bracket for some type of aftermarket seat that doesn't slide you may be able to add another 1-1.25". I'm about 5'10" in my S14 w/o sunroof and with a helmet, space would be very limited. especially to the left of your head it is very near the trim around the door, like 2.5 inches. I would have to c*** me head to the right slightly.

Yes Ren, it does. I love the third gen RX7, but there simply is no way for me to comfortably fit in that car. The S13/S14 are about the roomiest (headroom wise) import compacts I have been in.Obviously the 300Z and Supra were a larger vehicle, but even then, they can be a tight fit.
