ok my goals are for 350-380is rwhp on a .64ar 2871r. 15psi daily driving and 20psi for weekend track.

im about to swap my cams to hks 264 step 1 on both sides with RAS. is there anything else i NEED to replace for this power goal ie. guides, retainers, valves?

since i will have the cams out i will dig deeper and do a metal head gasket too but i cant find one thats stock bore (have only look on ebay so far for gaskets and all are 87 or 88mm). could i use an overbored one IF possible without engine damage and how much overbored to be safe if possible.

lastly bolts. will the stock bolts and studs hold 20psi at 380hp? do i get the MAIN or HEAD bolts/studs?...or both?

PS: I dont really want to replace anything if the stock components can handle my power goal.

Thanx for all replies.

no u will not need have to do any valve or spring work with the hks step 1 cams, i just ordered my cams yesterday (hks step1 264/264) and plan on runnin nearly the same setup as u except for the .86 ar, with only ras too

as for the headgasket i would get a apexi stock bore 86mm with a 1.1mm thickness, renova auto on ebay sells them the cheapest that i have found, i just bought the last auction for one yesterday so u will either have to contact them or wait till they make another auction for one:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

as for headstuds i would get the arp kit, cheapest ive found on them was on phase2, $125 plus shipping:http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html

also u should have the head machined flat again while its off

and no, do not buy an oversized headgasket

also if u are lookin for 380whp i would definately suggest a greddy or topspeed intake mani, i dont think the .64 ar will make 380whp with the stock mani, hopefully u prove me wrong though, but we will see i guess

Thanks for the answers, greatly appretiated.

i was going to leave the stock intake manny so i can still keep some low end torque for daily driving. 380 rwp would be good but if i can push past 350 with stock manny thats fine with me.

thanx again

talk to enjuku. when i was doing my headgasket swap i bought the headgasket kit which is a pretty good deal. they also said that if i was to buy springs, retainers, cams and such that they could cut me a pretty good deal( came to about a $80 discount).

also cam gears? do i really need them? i know that there good for tuning to move the pwr band around but after your done tuning there usefulness kinda becomes nill. will the stock cam timing be sufficient and safe with my 264/264 cams?
