ok i just started my sohc after having it rebuild. The head that i used for it was one that i pulled out of a low miles engine. The lifters are ticling really loudly. I pulled the valve cover and some of the lifters move when i push on them. Should they do this or should they be solid? What should ido thanks.

yeah i read that but i was wondering if this was something that will fix itself as the preasure comes up or is this something that i have to take the head apart to fix. I have only had the engine on for a fewseconds at a time just to see the preasure come up on the gauge. How can i check to see if the head is getting the necessary oil flow to stop the ticking. Thanks

ok i just read i the chilton manual that i can run the motor for 10 minutes at 1000 rpm to bleed the lifters. Is this advisable or would it be better to take them off and fill with oil?

Mine f*** up evry now and then,I normaly just do a very spirited pull to redline, dont do that tho. Let her warm all the way up see if that gets rid of it. Oil is full right? Try pouring directly on the ones that move with an oiler can. IF the hole is on top it will be a breaze but IDK.
