as some of u know i threw off my timing in my KA24E and bent damn near every valve i had...dented the pistons as well...The pistons (for the most part) look to be usable.. The head obviously is not...

My question is that when i take the head to the machine shop, What else can i ask them to do as well as replace the valves...ive heard i need to have them "hone" it..i think... Anything else i can do to pick up a few extra horsepower that wont run extremely expensive?

Have the thing pressure checked and planed (if the surface is out of spec), def. have it ported (both intake and exhaust), I guess other options are hot-tanking, ball peening, stronger valves/retainers/springs/cams etc. All depends on how big ur pocket book is 1
