Do your lights go down when you use the retraction switch?

this is just a guess, but try h/l down relay. these relays are close to battery. take a relay from somewhere else and replace the current relay. I have taken pics of these relays and posted them in the above thread.

I'd test all the head light relays. There is one in the other relay box on other side of engine bay.

this explains how a relay works. apply 12 volts dc and see if it clicks. i use my battery jumper for 12volts. if you have a multimeter , you can test it better.

I pulled out my head light (h/l) down relay and substituted the N&P/clutch relay and the light retracted. did not retract with h/l down relay out.

terminals 1 and 2 are the relay coil . 3 and 5 seem to be the two terminals that need to be connected for light to retract. i guess you could jumper those two for a few seconds to see what happens. i assume the diagram on the relay corresponds with where the terminals are actually located. I'm just speculating here. not sure if you would damage something doing this if you hooked up wrong terminals.

this may be a dumb response but any chance the previous owner pulled the 'cut the brown wire' sleepy eye trick? that would cause your situation i think

edit: nvm that would only be it if they would go down but not up my bad

ignore this response lol

that happened to my car too when i bought it.. what i did was, behind the kick panel by the fuses under your dash. theres a white box thing.. whatever you want to call it.. well I went to the junk yard got one and replaced it.. now its works finee.. try that out..

I guess the time control unit and the headlight timer are right next to each other. The picture in the link below is the time control unit right next to fuse box.

The diagram makes the fuse box look like it is inside door but it is in kick panel on drivers side.
