head light trouble, need help ASAP!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

hey guys, well, i just bought my first 240 the other day. some dumb *** crashed it. ran into another car. crunched the whole front end, fenders, hood, headlights, bumper, but the thats pretty much it. then he bought all new parts but didnt know the first thing about putting it back toghether, so i bought it for five hundred bucks!!!!! the car its a beauty. leather front seats, perfect interior and paint. intake, lowered, exhaust. runs perfect five speed. sounds awesome.

well anyways, i put the front end back together and i hooked up the head lights. when i reconnected the battery, (the key was off, and so was the headlight switch) the head lights popped up. when i turn the switch on, the lights turn on, an turn off with the switch also but the head lights dont go back down. if you try to manually crank them down with the knob on the motor with the battery connected, i cant, it will spin the knob right out of your hand and go back to the up position. i am so confused!! the worst thing is that i know it probably the smallest and bvious thing to fix but i am sittin here feelin like a bumb *** so if some one has any ideas or has had this problem, please give me a hint, cuz im getting kinda irritated.

is it grounded off correctly. make sure your harness for your head lights was not pinched. it maybe just a single wire that was pinched. hope that helps!
