head light on can't turn off

My 240 has a eletrical smell inside of car. But the real problem is that the driver side head light will not shut off. It goes up and down when ativated and the high beams work fine. Inaddition, the right turn signal front and back stay on as well. The left turn signals work just fine but not the right. My only fix at this time is to pop the hood and unhook the battery.:help
