My Infiniti guy told me it's not 'normal' but it does happen in lots of M's. Mine is under warranty and the headlamp is 100% covered, but since it does stop on it's own and it did pass the leveling test, it doesn't qualify for replacement (yet).

You know when I was lowered for the longest time I was seeing oncoming cars flashing their high beams at me. I was wondering why but then discovered that the lowering caused the headlamps to raise just enough so they appear like high beams to oncoming cars. One of the guys here spent a bit of time and created that brilliant bracket to extend the sensors.TXT wrote:My headlight works fine, but I've actually turned off the AFS with the switch. Since I have no need for the headlights to turn with my steering wheel I keep it off to avoid having it go bad in the future. Only time I turn it on is when I'm in an area with low lighting.
I think that when I turn off the AFS, the auto leveling probably still works. I have my car dropped plus windshield tint and it is very difficult to see at night since the headlight now aims very low.

I am having the auto leveling issue on the driver's side of my M45 as well. Does anyone know how to disconnect the auto leveling feature at the headlight so the noise goes away?
Thanks for the help!

Hey Avishal,avishal26 wrote:I have left mine unplugged for a couple of months now. probably not a bad idea to tape the connectors to prevent corrosion and dust ... I should prbly do that too lol

open up your hood and right behind the headlights (more towards the sidewall of the car - directly behind the low beams) is a connector going into the auto leveler motor. Simply press the release on the connector, pull it away from the back of the headlight housing and your done. When I did mine, I just wrapped both the connector and the inlet of the auto leveler motor with electrical tape. If your car is lowered, then you'll just need to manually adjust your headlights one time and forget about it. Saved me a few hundred dollars by
unplugging the system rather than buying an entire headlamp assembly.
