I was thinking about gettting some clear stone chip film installed on just the fronts of the head lights,But then again,I was thinking if i really need it,I have seen some other cars crack the covers.I am curious if nissan ever thought about this since they are such large lights. But then again they would like you to pay out big bucks to replace them,Is the material used crack resistant ?.Highways with trucks do it all perfectly to destroy the looks of the front end.

I just got done calling several places to see about having the clear film protection applied to the whole front end of the car. The front bumper is already done on Versas at the factory. If you look really close at the end edges of the bumper where it goes around the sides you can see the edge of the film (just in front of the front tires). Anyhow, just to do part-way up the hood, the headlights, and the backs of the side mirrors, most places wanted around $400! Soooo...I looked on ebay. If you type in "3M Clear Film" in the search, you will find multiple listings for remnants of the film (probably left over from jobs done at detail shops). I bought a piece that is 6" X 84". I'm going to try to do the front 6" of the hood, the headlights, and the mirrors myself. It only cost me a total of $32 shipped, so I figure if I screw it up, it's no big loss.

All I can say is that in 30 years of driving I have never had a single headlight crack or chip from a stone. So I don't really see the point.
