Just picked up some ice white/blue bulbs. They are supposed to simulate 7000k hids. Now they are 55W. I also got some 80W but I have not installed them because i was told that anything above 55W would burn on the light harness.

I was told I could go to autozone to get a heavy duty harness. Has anyone done this for thier light setup???

The setup is not HID the lights come with the standard Halogen. I wish I could find a way to add a HID eye part I saw one yesterday.

Find what bulbs the Bimmer headlights need, and get that HID kit.

I am running 120Watt high beams with no problems, although they aren't on constantly like a low beam would be. There is no burning pins or anything, I did have to put in a relay and harness for louder horns though...

It doesn't look like they have the 120 watt bulbs anymore, made by Hai-shin light company or something....

That's usually what happens when current draw exceeds the design parameters.

Anyone here tried the HIR bulbs? Same base/connectors/wattage as 9005/6 but with more lumens.

Also have the filament aligned correctly for halogen optics.

In theory they should be the best thing since sliced bread, wiith the same current draw but more light output than the stockers.

Combine them with new connectors and a booster/relay harness and you should have HID-quality light for about half the cost and without having to cobble together the optics.
