i overheat on the highway and some people are telling me it might be a failing head gasket. now the engine was rebuilt about 30k before turbo. and the overheating started the day i went turbo. i think it might be that the radi can't handle the heat. anyways, so i checked to see how much it costs to change the head gasket and they told me that to change it u would have to do a whole resurfacing and valve cover gasket ect., ect.. like $700. is that a decent price? also would i really have to do all of that, or just swap in the new head gasket?

700 sounds right for all that work. i took my head to a shop to just have the resurfacing done on that and it cost 350. you might not need to have all that work done, but it will give you better compression.

i think i'm gonna do a leak down and comp test. a couple days before turbo, i comp. tested at over 190 per cylinder. hopefully that hasn't changed.
