Theres one or 2 websites that sell metal head gaskets from Greddy, one of em says that the stock head gaskets are prone to failure under racing conditions. How true is this? I didnt really want to spend the extra 200 something bucks for these, but when I got my RB it had 92% compression in cylinder 2 and a little higher in another one, so I dont think it would kill me to replace the gaskets now better than later.

think of your headgasket like a saftey net, if your running a close to stock engine, and something goes wrong (overboost, etc) the headgasket will blow out before the pistons...rods...valves..etc. now if your really gonna spend money and go for high horsepower stuff definatley upgrade. but if its a stock type application id say leave the HG alone.

also, what do you mean 92% compression? did you do a leakdown test? 92% of the other cylinders? also the headgasket isnt the only place air can escape out of a cylinder. valves and rings are also a possibility.

you should be able to find it at any parts store like autozone or oreillys. if not there is always the dealership. if you dont have a connection dont forget to pick up a tube of lube on your way to the dealership tho.
