I dont really understand what you want a pic of. The CA only installs one way. It can't be 180* off or anything because of the half-moon shape piece. I would check the torque on your headbolts. Did you reuse the stock headbolts?

Do a compression/leakdown test. That will tell you if the head is sealing. If it is, then you've got an electrical problem.

I know it's a pain, but if I was you, I'd re-install the timing belt. I've been 100% sure that I had it right before and I was wrong. Being off by 1 tooth is sometimes enough to make it not start.

OK the car is starting Now. But it looks like my CAS may be broken. In my CAS there is a Half moon piece in the shaft, is this Correct? But it doesn't connect to anything on the CAM! (no half moon on the came)

I need help because I cant Replace the CAM,There are no parts in SA for these car's.And Nissan want R3500 or $539 US

And I'm really starting to hate these motors. And Nissan SA.

Also when I got the car started it sounded like it was missing on at least 2 Chambers. It rocked violently from Side to side and when you depress the accelerator , it wouldn't Rev past 2300 RPM.

Ive had the Turbo checked out! (all cool)Could this be Cam Timing? I aligned the System with the mark on the crack pulley not the crank sprocket! (was unable to remove the crack pulley...)

Please there is No one in SA that has a Cooking Clue how to fix the problem,But They are willing to take my money and try...

Please Please Help

if the alignment pin on is broke, and you're off even one tooth, your car may not start. if it does, it'll run rough.

i've had this happen to me. what i'm doing now is looking for where the half moon used to be and line it up with a dot on the CAS. you'll know when you're looking at it.

You need another exhaust cam and I'd probably change the cam angle sensor as well. They do go bad, especially if the previous didn't line the crank angle sensor up correctly. People tend to force them back together and that's a no-no. Don't hate the motor! It's not it's fault that the previous owner failed to properly take care of it, but now you can start by doing something to help your situation.

OK Cool.

But not to sound melodramatic but in South Africa it would be cheaper to do a full CA swap or SR for that fact then to buy a CAS and a Exhaust CAM..

I cant afforded to replace these Items, So please can I get a Pic of a Exhaust cam and cam Gear at TDC with the half moon piece intact so I can align the CAS and the CAM..

I cant replace so PLEASE HELP...

at TDC the ex cam alignment pin is horizontal and looks like a bowl i believe. the CAS has a dot on the outside of it, which indicates where it's bowl should be. double check, it should be inverted.

sorry, i don't have any pics, or access to a digicam, otherwise i'd have pulled it off and showed you exactly what i'm talking about. i hope that's a good enough discription.

it cant cost that much to get those parts... they sold the CA in europe for quite a run, so i would imagine getting parts wouldnt be too hard. ive got an extra set of ca18 cams but after shipping and everything it probably wouldnt be worth it.

my family is from england so i know how easy it is to get ca parts there. maybe someone on SXOC could help you out?

by the way, the ca16de or ca18de cams will work too

Beleave me its that Expencive..

And Im in South Africa not england.... And Nissan SA is pathetic. Here also somthing interesting here in SA we have a S13 200SX that runns 10's on a 1/4 Mile.

Great guy but now I know why he swaped the Ca18DET out for a MAZDA 2.0 Turbo. Half the price twice the power..

Does anyone have a picture of the Exhaust Cam at TDC with the splines...Thank Mikesim but I really dont have a cooking clue what your trying to tell me.The workshop did a number on this Cam

Nine times out of ten, if you try to buy something from England its going to be MUCH more expensive. Exchange rate dollars to pounds is disgusting.
