What kind of head gasket are you all running on your KA24DET? Also, where did you get them. I did a search but couldnt find much. Im doing my timing chain and i figure i might as well do it right and change the head gasket while the head is off. Also, are ARP studs nessesary, or could I get away with factory stuff. Im going to be running a WRX turbo on a JGS tools manifold, 370cc injectors, E-manage, and WRX intercooler (maybe). Ill probably boost up to 10psi at times. any help is greatly appreciated. oh BTW I did a quick search but couldnt find much. thanks.

The stock HG will last as long as the stock internals. Same with the fasteners. NO need to upgrade until you do a big boost buildup. If 10 psi is your max boost, then stock parts are the way to go.

Also, think of the head gasket like a fuse. Hopefully it will go before a piston will anyway. I'll change a head gasket in a second compared to having the block over bored and having to buy a new piston have it balanced and brake in the motor all over again.

I'm using a Cometic multi layer metal headgasket. Got it through my machine shop.

This is for a 20psi buildup though...

I'm using stock right now,it hasn't blown yet. I have a multilayer cometic headgasket laying around until it blows. Nick

i use a Cometic headgasket as well.just make sure your tune is right (air fuel ratios and timing WOT) before you install a metal headgasket and run higher boost levels (its the fuse issue WD was talking about).
