im trying to decide which size metal headgasket from hks to get. either the 1.2 mm or the 1.6 both are 86 bore? the price difference is about $15 dollars on http://www.nengun.com. but before i bought anything i wanted to get some of your opinions.

Thanks

IIRC 1.2mm is the stock thickness, unless you're compensating for material removed from the head and block, I would stick with the stock thickness. Thicker head gaskets are a poor way of decreasing compression.

Well, the Cometic is awesome especially for the price - $100, or ACL makes an mls headgasket for the ca18, also good - like $110. I think greddy makes one for around $180. And unless you are going for a decently high amount of boost the oem nissan headgasket for the ca18det is just fine as well.

I believe when I was reading around, staying under 18psi on the stock oem ca18det headgasket will be just fine. However, I decided to go with a cometic head gasket and studs instead for the added protection when I decide to go higher than 18psi.
