What are signs that your head gasket is going???

I thought needed a new thermostat after I found out was getting no coolant. NOw since ioverheated once, I think my head gasket is gone. I put a new radiator, new thermostat, etc. So I started it and drove it thinking everthing was cool....not. I had white smoke coming out everytime I tried to start it. I am thinking that is a head gasket issue, but I am not certain

White smoke out of the tailpipe is absolutely indicative of a bad head gasket. In NO WAY is it indicative of air bubbles in the radiator. Check for coolant in the oil, oil in the coolant, loss of coolant, overheating under load, do a compression test, do a coolant system pressure test, etc.

My apologies. My response was poorly worded. I should stop posting so late at night. :)

What I meant was that a blown head gasket can lead to combustion gases getting in to the cooling system.
