I have a question about the taking the intake manifold off on my s13. do i have to take the intake completely off to get te head off or do i have leae part of it on to use as leverage to pull the head off

You could leave the lower portion in the engine bay (the section with the plenum), but I wouldnt use it as a fulcrum for prying off the head. You shouldnt need to do any prying anyways, just make sure everything is unbolted.

i left the whole intake many in the engine bay. just pull it from the head and apart from the lower intake part the duct tape it to the stut tower till it's ready to be put back in. and yeah you really shouldn't need that much leverage, the head will just lift off

i would say to take the intake off with the head. it is easyer than seperating the intake from the head. To take the intake off the head. You have to disconnect alot of crap. Plus seperat the upper and lower intake.If you keep the intake on the head. All you need to disconnect is the heater hose,throttle cable,fuel line,intake braces and a few electric connections.Its easer i promise. Ive done it both ways.
