Head Gasket Replacement 1995 Nissan

Has anybody ever done this? I was especially curious ifany special problems were encountered when the camshaftsand lifters had to be removed BEFORE getting to the headgasket.

I replaced the entire motor instead of trying to do 1 head gasket.

The amount of labor is actually less to replace the motor vs 1 head gasket, it came with 65k miles, and a six month warranty, and I didn't have to fool wiht retiming the engine.

Do yu mind telling me how much another engine is?

I actually got an engine and a lsd transmission for about $1325. I think the engine was about $750 or so. I got them through http://www.lkqcorp.

I got my motor online for 200 bucks. Ran fine even with the added boost. I just pulled it to install a 3.5 other wise it would still be in my car.

I think the warranty is for complete replacement and lasts for (I believe) 6 months. I haven't had any problems out of the engine. I did have to reuse most of my sensors off my old engine.
