I bought the rebuild kit for my 94 s13 from http://www.importperformanceparts.net and so far have been pleased with the quality. I'm almost done putting the upper timing chain on (put on the upper timing chain cover and torqued the head down). However I realized two things, the head gasket provided is missing the hole for the one small bolt that goes through the head into the front cover (located at the front right lower corner of the head if your looking at the front). And also I think there was some WD-40 in the oil passages of the head and some leaked on the gasket because there is a little bit of oil that squeezed out near the back of the engine when I torqued down the head. Basically my question is should I buy an OEM head gasket and start over, should I just give it a try as is, or should I try to make a hole in the gasket for the one bolt? Any advice/opinions welcome.

I dont think it will be a big deal if you left it out. Worst thing that could happen is you MAY have an oil leak since it is near the chain area. but since there is so little pressure in that area it probably wont leak.

What about the oil on the gasket, will it prevent a good seal or is it probably ok? Thanks for the help.

its likely ok with the pressure of the head pushing down on it it probably just squeezed it all out.
