ok my 91' 240sx is shooting koolant out of the overflow tank the koolant is kinda brown.....that means oil and coolant are mixing in the cylinder rite? but there's no signs of water/coolant in my oil. the car became very hard to start because of the coolant in the head....i kno this was stupid but i did it anyway; I disconnected the radiator to keep water out of the cylinder then i started it up and it idlled perfect, while watching the temp i rev'd it up, temp stayed in good temp range after about 5 minutes of driving (still w/out radiator hoses connected)....while driving i noticed a loss of power during accelleration...next i brought the car back home the temp still in good range.....i kno you your probably say'n my method of testing for a blown head gasket was very stupid but i'm going to get a new KA. anyways...but b4 i do; do you think theres any chance in saving this engine? what do you think the problem is? thanks...

That is a unique way to test for a blown head gasket. Check your gauge, sounds like it isnt working properly, that engine was not made to be driven without water cooling. At the least the head is probably warped. Just because the water in your radiator is brown doesnt mean oil is in there, that could just be rust from the engine block or radiator.

its always easier to start with the cheap stuff.flush it out. drain fluid out of the radiator. open the drain plug on the block. then put a hose to your radiator and flush it out good.
