Ok so I just swapped a s14 sr in my s13. Start it up it revs up nice but very slow, and blows white smoke like crazy. it looks pretty white but i know oil is pretty close to the same color. brand new turbo, and compression is 120 in all 4 cylinders. With a whole mobile one cap full of oil poured into each cyl the compression goes up to 140, but i was thinking thats because of how much oil i put into it, and if it were the rings wouldnt the compression be higher? The car does not over heat, but I havent ran it more than 25 mins. I really need to figure this out so i can get it fixed, please help.

Sounds like a worn bore issue.

+1 for rings.

Headgaskets tend to have irradic compression

But your oil color is still normal colored? Your coolant is otherwise still green (or whatever color your coolant is)?

worn bore? Well how many miles would this engine have to have to be like that? or even for worn rings?? I was told this engine had 55,000 km on it when pulled. The anti freeze did look somewhat milky well it wasnt clear it was like neon green milk. Valve stem seals maybe? but would I have compression like that if they were valve stem seals?

If your antifreeze is milky, then most likely it's mixing with oil. You may have a bad headgasket. Since you say that the car blows white smoke like crazy though, it could actually be a whole bunch of things. Instead of just replacing one thing or another, you may want to do a full rebuild or get another motor

Pull your spark plugs, if they are white then you most likely have coolant entering your cylinder. That will accelerate ring and bore wear as will running rich.

Complimentary problems.

One thing is for sure, I'd stop driving the car because it needs either a headgasket or a ring swap. You won't really know until you take it apart.

Took the car around the block, doesnt over heat what so ever, puffs of smoke when shifting, and smoke looks more light blue than white. Also found oil in hot pipe! what could all this mean?

spark plugs brown-black, and compression is equally 120 in all 4.

that compression is pretty low...

did you try adding a little bit of oil and doing the compression test again?

Oil in hot pipe = normal

Copious amounts of puddled oil around turbo = bad seals.

yeah theres not too much oil in the hotpipe, no oil in the intake pipe. No oil around turbo. oil catch can clean up the smoking a bit?
