So, I ordered this head kit with all the gaskets etc, and I noticed the valve cover gasket, and spark plug gasket thing dont fit properly. It's like they were meant for a different version of the KA. So I immediately thought, oh s***, the head gasket is probably different too...

It lines up with everything except one single bolt on the front timing cover, can I notch it out to fit, or should I just go get a head gasket from pep boys?

Do not skimp on the head gasket, get the correct one. Get one made by Felpro at the very least.

gaskets are sumpthing you cannot go cheep on..they can cost you the motor if you choose a chepo and it fails...ie head gasket, exhaust manifold gaskets..ect....some of the gaskets you can actually make from a roll of matirial..i buy felpro gasket in a roll for water pumps and coolant issues...but i only use the best for my build when it comes to headgaskets..dont skimp...felpro or better...good luck

I got it all figured out guys!Uh, I went to order a felpro gasket for a 91-94 but it still would not fit, turns out that only the 95-98 gaskets fit in my car, which is a 93.

This means I have a swapped motor?

with 240's you should allways ask what mods have been done before you buy..that way you will know to buy say...90 parts for the body and trim and 95-98 parts for your motor..ect (example)....you should actually make a note book on what your car has moded and keep it just in case you decide to sell it or need to refer to it later when doing maintinance...this will allso help you keep track of regular oil changes and problems you may have been having...hope this helps.
