Hello I have been searching for about a hour and 40 min. and i have heard ppl runing 22 lbs of boost from a gt2871r on a stock HG? can anyone back that up? I was looking to run 18-20 lbs if i kept the stock HG. I would upgrade but im told to go from oem HG to a metal HG you have to have the head machined to make sure the surface is perfectly smooth. Again im just wondering what you all have done in order to run higher boost ( as far as the HG is concerned ). And just so you know i have 72# injectors, z32 maf, gt2871r, FMIC and all the other good stuff needed to tune engine/ control boost. But im concerned about this HG issue so thanks for the help in advance.

What about the machining of the head? did you do that when you put your mhg on?

there certain are people running 350 400whp on stock head gaskets but its risky.

its recommended that the surface of the head and block are resurfaced. If they turn out to be not too bad (use a feeler gauge), you most likely wont have any problems.
