When opening my KaDE I saw what I think are BAD things! There were small round holes punched in the head gasket in only 2 of all the cylinder cooling jacket holes (slots). This is between the block and head. The rest were totally sealed with the gasket and deformed into the space just by clamping forces.

Surely these are not supposed to be closed off??

Do better gaskets have the passages open and the crap gaskets require some trimming, or do you have to trim all gaskets?
