hey im still learning about how to do things on my own. ive got help on this one but we cant detach the head from the intake. we havent been able to locate the screws on bottom side of the intake, its getting really frustrating. i can slide my hand in there a little bit but i cant even feel the them at all. any advice on how to get to those screws would help me out a lot thanks.

are you using the FSM as a guide to you removal?

in case you are not using the FSM the link is: zerothread?id=311075

You should be using it as a guide or at least have read through it before attempting removal. lots of steps you have to take when removing/installing the head.

The hardest to get bolts are going to be on the bottom, from what I remember i had a hard time pulling my buddies off because the two bottom bolts were such a b**** to locate and then remove. also make sure you have removed the intake manifold -> block support pieces because those will hinder removal too, and once you got em off toss them away you don't need them.

Good shop lights make ALL the difference, if you have too get under the car and try and spot them with some help from a friend.

I was all over the place trying to find them, and one was covered with road grime so it was pretty hidden from plain sight.

In retrospect my DE intake manifold is cake in comparison to the E.
