Since the KA people seem to care more about this kind of thing than the SR guys I thought I'd share this with you.

DE High Port at 28" (Stock)215.6 Inlet115.8 Exhaust

DE high port at 28" (Modified)305.4cfm Inlet +41.7%198.6cfm Exhaust +31.7%

Both at 0.600" Lift

Check out that nasty exhaust side flow. This is an SR20DE engine btw. I know some people were looking to bench the KA head in comparison to the SR head, just thought I'd give some numbers.

305 CFM ain't shabby for a 2.0L cylinder head.

Yea I knew those numbers for hte sr were bad, compared to a stock 4g63 and b18 (similar engine sizes) they outflow the sr by a lot. I did some research after I was told that teh SR was the best flowing 4 cylinder head. Which I did not believe.

Yeah, I think alot of the confusion is in that the SR makes large gains in flow with porting. I think you'll find that most stock valved B series heads come up short of the 300 CFM @ 28" mark, but the oversized valve (2mm) engines put out nearly 320 CFM @ 28".

Then again the VE head is superior than the DE head, and it's limits haven't been displayed yet.

nismofreak, are the modified #rs any good? cant tell whats good numbers. also, why did you flow it at .600lift? Do we have anything that can open the DE valves that much? Any idea whats the biggest(available to anyone) cams that they sell for the DE? thanks

That is an SR20DE head.

The SR has cams that are pretty high into the .500's as far as lift is concerned, but the SR has less restrictions when it comes to camshafts due to physical boundries.

305 CFM is good for a head that was designed in the 80's.

I posted to show the uniformity that Nissan builds into head designs and to give an idea of what the SR head flows given that it is a proven engine. I'm certain that the Japanese companies have reworked these heads for more flow than that, but no one lives next to JUN with a KA the last time I checked.

So, what does the KADE head flow? I've heard of Japanese kids importing the KA for it's displacement. It goes really well with all their winding mountain roads.
