Ok,,,it's been soo long since I've been around here and even longer since I've even started my Q (maybe last April???). The past year and half have been very tough,,,,,big injury-workmans comp-very low funds-career change---now coming out of the funk. Can't tell you how bad I feel for neglecting my beloved Q---put brand new tires on her last April that I don't think moved much since I drove it home. Since I now have a company car, boring taurus, I haven't touched either my Q or BMW. My question is,,,,is there any steps to take when reviving a car that has sat for a long time??? I have someone lined up to update my 325, but I trust very few with the Q. Are my "new" tires ruined from sitting in the same spot for so long??? Thanks guys,,,and I plan on becoming a "regular" around here again!PS--Wes---HELP!PPS---any NICO members around the Cleveland area this weekend,,,I'll be out there! Sat. afternoon--the "Christmas Story" house in the afternoon--the Cavs Sat. night, dinner-drinks, the Browns Sunday. Can't wait!

Welcome back!!! I really dont think youll run into problems however I would have put gas stabilizer in the tank.... Still its only been sitting for 8 months, not 2 years or anything like that.... Personally what I would do is get fresh gas in there and maybe run some 44k to get all the funk out...

I would think 10-15mins of driving would take the flatspotting out of the tires....

Don't worry about it... I had Q2 for almost two years before she became my daily driver. I wanted to do everything else (complete suspension rehab, swap some components etc.) before I took her to T3 for the guides. Anyhow, the car would sit for months at a time.

The one thing I would suggest is to pull the Injector fuse in the "under hood" box and let the starter turn the engine over for several seconds. This will get some oil pumped up and splashing around in the engine. I think you'll be fine!

Glad to see you back!

Pull the fuel pump fuse and turn it a few revoutions to prime the HLA and cylinders before you reconnect to fire up.

Presume the battery has been on a charger alll along?
