I'm trying to take the cylinder head off my enging using my trusty haynes manual. My question is, are the head bolts the bolts that look like you have to take them out with an allen wrench?

They are circular and have the female hex thing in them. If you're popping off the head, chances are there are puddles of oil in em. On my SR they were under the cams in pretty obvious spaces. Shouldn't be too hard to find on the KA's either.

Yep, remove cams, and you'll see the 10mm allen bolts...you can get a 3/8" socket witha 10mm allen head at most parts stores.

Ok, I got the head bolts out and now I have one thing "I assume" holding the head on. The chilton guide says there are intake brackets but but the picture in the book is for an Altima. I've searched all over but I don't see any brackets. Is there brackets on the 240?

check the side towards the bottom of the engine. if you see kinda goldish or black struts going up from the block to the intake manifold there ya go. The SR has a crap load of these so dunno might be a similar situation on the DE.

There are two brackets that are holding the intake manifold to the block. 3 bolts total, on the very bottom of the manifold.
