Head Bolts

My brother just informed me today that some cars' head bolts are "stretch bolts" and can only be used once (have to replace them if you pull the head). Is the KA24E (sohc) like that? Because im planning on pulling my head today but dont want to do it if its gonna cost me to buy a new set of bolts- probably not cheap. thanks, brett

It's always a good idea to replace the headbolts. I have also heard do not clean the piston tops off, because they are used to the carbon buildup in most places and when u clean them off it weakens that one area because its adapted to being untouched.

I would replace them anyways. They are not extremely expensive, its just that there are so many.
