I have a 90 ka24e with 10:6.1 cr arias pistons. Been killing gaskets and can't place for certain what the problem is exactly. So I was wondering if the higher compression ratio requires more head bolt torque? I used the manual specifications of the four step process ending somewhere around 60 foot pounds. I have tried several different gaskets and unfortunatley cometic doesn't make one for the e and arp only has head studs not bolts. Also I know of the bolt stretch and used new bolts. Thanks

Ive seen higher comp on oem & aftermarket gaskets using oem torque specs with no problems. oh, and still using original headbolts. there might be something else wrong. hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Not the news I was hoping to hear, but I am becoming quite proficient at removing the head. I purchased an innovate lc-1 setup to see my o2 levels and a nistune ecu upgrade to be able to program the computer and see what the hell is going on. Hopefully I will be able to get everything worked out now or at least know what is going on.

Does the gasket keep blowing in the same place ?I'd check to make sure that the deck and head are flat and notwarped
