So I took her to the Nazi board of emissions today. I passed everything except HC at Idle. The only codes I have are a knock sensor and A/T code.

Any suggestions to get it passing. I warmed the CAT up real good before testing and ran premium fuel.

fix the knock sensor...a knock code will cause the engine to run SILLY rich.trust me on this, my vh had the knock code for ages and it would smell like raw fuel if you stood behind it once i fixed it it ran noticably leaner.

I also had an ECT code. I threw another ECT on it and got rid of that.

I tried to test the knock sensors through the harness. I could not get a resistance reading on one. I assume that means it is dead?

I also checked the resistance on the injectors and came up with two that were in the 15.8 range. Specs are supposed to be 10-14 but these injectors are brand new! is 15.8 so far out of range that it would case a problem?

It also won't hold a steady idle. Sometimes it will come right to 900 rpm and hold there. Other times it wants to hold at 1100 or 1500.

HC at idle needs to be <220 and I was around 550

it seems to be accepted fact that knock sensors do not last on these engines...fwiw you can use knock sensors from a 97 vh41 on the v45 with a plug swap and the addtion of an external ground, this is what i did on my vh and the sensors were 50$ total!
