Hey I was wondering if you ever went through with purchasing an sr20 swap. I saw your thread about bestofjdm.com and was wondering if you went through them. Im thinkin of the swap and they are priced well....but its iffy.

thanks,

frank

well now way to search man.

i decided against an SR swap. i recently picked up an s12 hatch that im building now (almost halfway done) and then i got big plans for the 240 when im done.

don't want to reveal them just yet but this thread is far from dead/ over its just been on a summer break

good luck if you use them, i know there's elite JDM in philly who are good sellers so i hope something works out for you

cheers and welcome to NICO

ok guess an update for anyone that cares.

the 240 is officially off the road for now.

the KA will come out to go in its new home (the s12) and the rust repair can begin on the engine bay.

after that is taken care of (probably by winter/ early spring and if money is good ill unveil my plan to all of nico and not just the local guys.

so here she is as she sits

KA ready to come out soon

and the rust

yes but its so worth it to take care of the rust....

id rather repair the car than scrap it and find another shell

its not gone just sleeping i got big goals for it; new installment will begin mid winter/ early spring

I know you did it a while ago but I did the same thing with my fuel lines, what a pain in the arse. The bends are a little funky but they stay put so Im not concerned.

drftboy: Engine is fromS30 (s31 for 280z?) chassis datsun Z son. Josh's is a 2.8L (Hence L28 engine code yo) but it was non turbo before the teardown.

Going to sound so sick... just balls to the wall man I have to stop thinking about it. But srsly, classic engine in a sweet suspension geometry car... win.

pretty much right tom, except all the z's were s30s till the zx's came out in 79 and it is referred to as the s130

the l series is found in the z's untill the 300zx's came out and are all fundementally the same, with different stroke, bore and heads respectively

im building a hybrid motor with an earlier block and this turbo P90 head. shooting for 300ish HP w a holset turbo and stand alone to start.

the stock turbo was rated at 180 on a mild 6 or 7 non intercooled.

i already had the block, found this and was like screw it im gonna do somethin a bit different

My god! Uncharted Datsun engineering. You got big plans and big dreams Josh.

Too bad both of us barely have any time to get our cars completed.

I seem to remember you saying you might have your suspension setup for sale soon. Any idea when? I'm eying Bilstein's pretty hard but will hold out for a good deal through the winter.

with the end of my semester; and hopefully the completion of my s12 in the next month, i will be starting working on my s13 again.

its going back in for more rust repair at the end of the week, and ive been gathering parts the last few months.... still need a ton more before i really start tearing into it, but ill post pictures of the engine bay once all the rust is removed/ and the engine goes up on the stand.

peace
