Car: 1993 Nissan 240sx Convertible

Post

So I thought I would share some pictures of my vert's progress since I bought it in Hawaii. May 2008 I purchased a red 1993 nissan convertible while I attended University of Hawaii on Oahu. The 240sx convertible wasnt very appealing to me untill I moved on the island. Possibly one of the best decisions I ever made over there.

This is from the first day that I had the title under my name...slightly faded paint, faded top, faded rear window, dirty interior, balded tires, it only had 81xxx on the ticker but sounded like a wrx...anyone that heard this from their motor only means one thing...blown injector(s) After installing new injectors..i actually had a very good dd. everything was operational but of course had those usual vert defects..

The car ran stock for about 2 weeks when I decided to drop some money into it. injen cold air intake w/ bumper extensiontein springs5 lug conversionnew trunk strutsxenon lipoem sideskirts18" wheels stock interiors black carpet

Pretty much ran out of money for the car after all of that. So the car spent its remaining days in Hawaii just like this.

Tantalus lookout....diamond head and waikiki in the background

December 08 I decide to change my major and move back home. Back to Washington state Iwas going. After thinking it through I just couldn't part with the car at that time.

The car at the auto transport lot getting checked in.

The unthinkable happened just 2 days before it was suppose to be ready to ship. while driving to a friends house...and japanese tourist in a rental decided to merge into my lane during slow traffic...recieved $1,400 from their insurance though : )

After 2 weeks in a container it finally arrived in the port of Seattle. I drove around just the way it was for a month or so. Then the project officially started.

Intake manifold came off and removed the emmissionsDecided to weld up some unnecessary holesGot it ready to do some paintingKA freshly rebuilt and paintedPutting the motor together piece by pieceRemoving emissions made more room for a little KA-T action. After 2 months building the motor and turbo kit the motor and wiring is finally in.

This is it for now...it is about ready to get painted I will update as much as I can. Sorry for the lack of progressive pictures. I originally did not plan to make a thread.

Must have lost password or something. Anyway, I've been wondering about this car. Haven't seen much post after the calendar thing. Car looks great. Keep up the good work.

Dang! That's a lot of work. I wish you took off rear bumper too. Just make sure to make it look as good as in this picture.

Haha yeah it was a long process..i didnt have much time to work on it either..most of the work was done from 9pm to 3am.. im glad its all done. I am in the process of wet sanding and color buffing. there was quite a few overspray because of small gusts of wind that passed by as it was being sprayed...i'll post pics as it is being finished.
