HAVNG STARTER PRBLEMS CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP?

does anyone know if the stock 240 starter fits the ca18det?. my friends has been having problems with the starter ever scince car was taken to a small shop. i think they might haave just put 240 starter on it because now it wont start. it has the same symptoms as a bad starter. i tried taping the starter while he turne the key, but then the starter started to smoke up.

no it wont work, either get the starter rebuilt or get a new starter from a 1989 Nissan Pulsar NX SE CA18DE.
