Well, after getting the car running I hooked up the wideband, and it was wroking perfectly fine. Everything was stock, except bolt ons (intake, fmic, exhaust, bov, pulleys, etc..)The a/f was reading a constant 10:8. But now for some reason before it hits 11 a/f it shoots up past 16:. I read the instructions recalibrated about 6 times. Even did it with a shop, but still does the same thing. I only had the wideband in the car for about one week. Each time I take out the sensor it looks perfectly fine with no excessive carbon or anything like that. The Sensor warms up fine. Just weird how it was working perfect a week ago and then it does this. Anyone using a NGK AFX have any trouble. Forgot to mention I even restarted the whole unit by unplugging the power to it. And though I bought it about 4 months ago Ngk wont help me out, I had talked to there technical support but they didn't really help, and the warranty is only good for 2 months. With out my wideband I wont be able to install my 565cc injector . So if anyone can help me in assisting on what to look for. I mean if it was working perfectly one week ago, and I never touched it, why would it do this now. Thanks for your help-Ricky

The books recommend 12-48 inches away from manifold or turbo, I put it about 32 inches away.

shoot man that sounds perfect, I was hoping you were gonna say right after the turbo lol.

The only other thought that comes to mind is I was washing my car once, I got some water in the exhaust and it ruined the sensor.

Yea, I mean i checked and rechecked the owners manual as far as maybe I installed something wrong but everything is perfect. The sensor is completely dry. I just cant figure it out, this really sucks though. I had the aem wideband on my KA-t and I couldnt get it to work for crap, so I figured this one would atleast work, and it did for only a week But would your sensor warm up? even after you washed it or it didnt work at all?-Ricky

Having used Autronic's Wideband with these sensors...I can tell you they don't last if you keep them installed at all times. The Sensors are designed for calibrating the engine and then to be removed until the next tuning session. I know a lot of guys run them installed in their vehicle all the time with supposed good results. When they get hot and then cool and then hot and then cool they start to get to slow before they fail. AFX makes a good Meter so I doubt this is the problem. My suggestion is to buy a new sensor and try it out. You might be able to get them cheaper from http://www.bmepfuelandtuning.com than other places, but they're not cheap anyway.

When you speak of your a/f ratio being 10.8 with bolt ons..under what conditions is this occurring? WOT or idle or light cruise. The only time you should be seeing 10.8 is WOT and even that is too rich. Running it that rich will cause all sorts of problems including destroying your stock O2 sensor and the wideband along with washing down the cylinders, fouling plugs, etc.
