Car is a early redtop sr20detT28 turbowalbro fuel pumpstock everything else.10psi of boost.Hey guys, I usually only come on to monitor and search when I do have a problem.Well, I searched for literally days...I checked a million things. My car, at idle, will not rev past 3k. If it does, its sooo sluggish. When I drive it, it drives like CRAP. No power at all, and wants to die, and just bogs and cuts out.I checked/tried

Pulling my codes. But my ecu doesnt have the led or the knob. No consult.

Installed a fuel pressure gauge and fuel pressure at idle is 40psi.

Tried cleaning maf.

Checked timing.

Checking ALL WIRING AND SENSORS. Didnt find anything out of the ordinary.

Had one extra coil, and swapped it out for each one and still something wrong...

Here is the story.

At first, when my car was doing this, I dis connected the 02 sensor and it ran great! For about three days. Then I did a compression check, pulled off the injector plugs, and the cam sensor plug, did the test, put it all back together and it started running like crap again. before it would do it, and i can turn it off then back on and it would be good. Now, its just running like crap allll the time.

Im all out of ideas at this point...

I tried searching and people had various problems. I checked most of them, but things turned out okay.

I dont see Any black smoke that would inquire I was running rich, only white smoke which I would thihnk coolant. but doesnt make sense.... Maybe its blue? still wouldnt make sense as to why all this is happening after I did a compression test.

One weird thing. Each time I checked a cylinder for compression, the very first time it turned over it made a very weird noise, but just once on the first revolution and then just kept turning it over to check the compression.

It did that for each cylinder.

ANY help would be great! Thanks guys. I really appreciate it!

Still no response huh...

I just swapped to a SOHC maf, and I surprised to see it had the sohc harness already no need to cut =]

But still same problem!!!!!!

if u unpluged ur o2 sensor and that fixed it for a while, then maybe u just need a new o2 sensor. id give it a shot

It might be a knock sensor that would explain the ecu going into safemode (not being rev past 3000rpm)I know that its almost impossible to check if its good You might find something here zerothread?id=253121

I noticed that was for a KA.Is it the same for a sr20?

Okay guys, I adjusted my tps, and checked voltages from the MAF.Tell me if this looks funny.

Looking at the maf, with the pig tail going around back, like if the plug was facing you.

First wire. 14VSecond wire. .05 and then .06 if I RevThird wire. 1.5 and then 2.8 if I Rev.Does that look weird?

I really am trying my best to get this thing going!

Adjust your fuel pressure to 36psi if vac hose is used. This being at idle.W/ vac unplugged you should have 43.5 psi. Have you replaced the FPR?It would prolly be a good time to replace it. Get yourself a Nismo, adjustableone. Your vac is fine at 18-20 inHg.If the SR doesn't rev pass 2.5 - 3k, then the culprit is the Maf.

It will rev past it, but Very badly. And the voltages to the maf seem normal dont they? I swapped it for a different maf already.Edit.Also running BKR5E Iridium ngks.

So...I just re setted my ecu.Drove the car with no boost. And I said to myself.. Wow. Its running smooth. Went home, put on the wastegate and drove it, and it wasnt messing up!But, a minute later, BAM.Driving like s***zzo again....Does this sound like a bad ecu, or did it take a minute for a sensor (whichever sensor it might dang be) tell the ecu to go to failsafe mode. if thats what its in.

hi, i dunno if this is a new or old thread, but first get rid of those iridium plugs, take em out, huck them in the trash and go get some copper ones, iridiums are built for lasting long and all that but those and also platinums do not spark nearly as good as copper ones thus either blowing out or just not igniting. I had a problem sounding like yours and i changed out my plugs to iridiums and that made it 100x worse! so i changed over to coppers and my car ran beautifuly! give it a shot
