I am trying to remove the driver-side inner tie-rod and can't get it to budge. I followed the directions in the FSM and bent back the tabs on the retainer to remove and it is supposed to just unscrew. Well it's not. I don't want to stress the rack and just want to know if anybody has any ideas on what to do about this dilemma. Thanks. Matt

Just thought I'd say that I was able to get it loose finally and replaced. I am now replacing both front wheel bearings along with the passenger-side control arm upper kingpin bearings.

Good info! Please let us know how the front wheel bearing work goes... I either have some tire noise or a bad bearing... we'll know as soon as I buy new tires.

Well I have replaced the upper kingpin bearings and still have play there. Anybody else have this problem? The only other thing that I can see replacing is the kingpin itself but I didn't see any wear with it and it was not loose so I left it be.

I just replaced the kingpin on the passenger side and the play is still there. I don't know what else to do. Bearings are new and I replaced the kingpin to go with it and the play is still there. The driver side is snug as it can be and the alignment shop will not align the wheels until the play is taken care of.
