i need help figuring out which to go with and maybe if any one have experiences with either. is it worth paying the 1300$ for the EMS or just go with the 600$ for the ultimate? people say you get what you play for but with no tuning knowledge is it worth getting the EMS? any advice would be helpful. and yes i have searched but i need things a little more explained. i dont know much about ECU's so idk what would be good for me.

thanks in advance guys.

really i think it depends on what motor your using the tuning for... i have friends that have both and honestly my friends that have the greddy eultimate have had a lot more problems wit it than anyone wit the AEM EMS.

I agree that it has to do with which motor you have but for a different reason I have the greddy ultimate and I had to splice into my wiring harness to wire it in lots of vampire tapping, soldering & electrical tape.now if you had a sr20det and you could just buy the plug & play harness from greddy I would go that route, you just need to read some reports on both to see which would suite you best Im not too familiar with AEM ems but I the general consensus of the E-manage ult is the people that understand the software really like them and obtain good results but amatuers that are just wanting to kinda play around with it and not research its capabilities or an understanding of how it works really dislike it

AEM EMS, nothing else compairs that I have seen......plus you can do whatever you want with it. My buddy set his up, I suggest you take it to someone who knows it and has a base map to work with(or download). Make sure you list mods.....ex turbo, injectors....things related to base map choice. Those who have AEM know about its couple of spins before the engine fires so dont freak out if you get AEM and it takes a 3 seconds to start the car lol. Anyways, think of it this way......Why is AEM so expensive and so popular?

definatly AEM b/c it direct plug-n-play and you can tune every aspect of your car to your liking. they made it for bussinesses at first then people started buying it.cause the shop i work at has 2 of them nd there f***ing awesome

lets just say you get what you pay for

well...if you dont have your engine yet or supporting mods i wouldnt even worry bout it, till you have those.

Whats your set up going to be? depending on you choice you could do a piggy back for a period of time till you add some real big changes to go stand alone. Just a though because you are debating at the moment.

i got my spare ka in my garage. its in the process of being rebuilt. but thats a long process because im not cheaping out any where. im not about to drop a lot of money on an engine and have it fail under boost.. currently though im trying to go with average turbo set up hittin 350ish. then later on i know i will want more so its gettin over built.

just so you know

they say plug n play on both the AEM and the emanage

and both will require

wires spliced and sensors swapped out and what not

so it will be alittle more then a plug and play

Your trying to compare a piggy back to a full blown stand alone. This thread fails.

AEM EMS > Greddy.

some people like you are absolutley retarded. how do you know what you need or what is suitable if you dont compare. your a f***ing idiot. so your telling me that you cant compare things that are different. so is it cool if i compare you to a retard. you and a retard are pretty damn close. definently in the same spectrum

thanks....you fail

yeah this is true.. but anyways really all depends on power potential, if you want it mapped as in no MAF, some other sensors Etc.

yeah well im trying to go mapped because i messed up my maf some how and my car idles weird. so it would be easier jsut to eliminate it than to have to try and find the problem. but yeah my power goals are in the mid to high 300's and i know i will want more later just cus it something thats addicting. ha ha. but yeah im trying to get a great tune so i can run pump gas with maybe octane boost or something.

the best thing to do then is to get a AEM EMS.. thats the best you can get, and it will give you the best base map to tune off of... and after you get supporting mods, it will be hard to stay at a low power range, because its all about tuning. unless your running a low low boost and lower compression.
