Ok so I finally get my car running to only find more problems. When it reaches operating temperatures its starts smoking a little bit. But I took it for a test drive and it run kinda rough. I just went around the block. But its smoke pretty bad now. I was told its whitish and bluish. I didn't see it for myself so Im going off my friends word.

So I check the hot side intercooler piping for oil. It was completely dry. Checked the spark plugs and they were black but all dry no wetness of any kind. Checked the coolant to make sure it wasn't milky and it was all good too. Anyone got any ideas?

Also now its hard to start up as in I have to tap the gas some to get it running. And it idle is pretty bad. Constantly wondering .

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check for vacuum leaksCheck IACV screwLook at the smoke yourself, if its blue-burning oil, white-coolant, black-runnin rich.

Youll get more attention if you post this on Zilvia or in the General 240 secition here on NICO

Run a compression test to verify that your head gasket isn't blown, white smoke could be, as mentioned, coolant being burnt in the combustion chamber.

Black spark plugs could be a number of things such as running rich or the spark plugs you have are not the correct heat range.

What spark plugs are you running?

K so it was a boost leak on the hotside. Got it running now. But its really weird. It still idles rough but there is not smoke. I think it was just burning the stuff left over from way earlier which caused me to do all this work.

But anyway now its there is no partial throttle. It bucks around when normal driving and feels like its hesitating but once you lay into it, it feels great. Runs very smooth up too just not at all down low. Any ideas?

And thanks for helping me out.

Ok I think I narrowed it down to getting spark and missing. Because I was just checking my timing again when my timing light stopped flashing. I looked up and notice the the spark plug wire I was using came out of the coilpack. Yet the car was still running the same. Which leads me to believe that its missing.

Any ideas on what to check? I have new spark plugs by the way.

Would that cause it to run like crap on anything other then full throttle?
