wassup,a couple months ago i spun a rod bearing in my #3 cyl.....i pulled the motor, put in a new crank and changed all the rest of the bearings(except the main bearings).......now that it is back up and running and im having a few problems....A)the car is constantly back firing when i let off the throttle(but it doesnt stall out)B)i have this japanese fuel controller and the car breaks up(spudders) under hard Acceleration when i have it at factory settings...so in order for it to run properly i have to set it to almost full rich...whats wrong

i tried playing with the timing but i had no success

I'd say you should either get on a dyno or buy a wideband o2 sensor so you can see what is happening with your air/fuel ratios.

my friends sr had the same sputtering problem under hard acceleration and it turned out to be vacuum lines in the wrong order. sence you have recently pulled your engine, i would go through and check for that.

I am guessing you have checked you timing and properly gapped your plugs?
