Check for fuel and spark. Cranks the motor over, pull the plugs and see if they are wet with fuel. If not, then you're not getting fuel. If they are then you've got a spark problem. To check for spark, remove a coil pack, but leave it connected to the harness. Tape a plug to the coil pack, hold the metal part of the plug to the head with something insulated (plastic handled screwdriver) and have someone crank it. If you don't see a very bright spark in the gap, then you probabally have a bad ignitor.

Also, has the motor been apart far enough to have the timing belt off? It is VERY easy to install the belt wrong and that is sometimes enough to not have the car start.

Have you Downloaded the FSM? There is a link in the stickies. It lists how to test the ignitors, coils, ect, to see if they're bad.
