Im having difficulty installing a new starter on my 94 Q45. What do I have to remove in order to get the old starter out. There seems to be a ton of stuff in my way and I can't get a clear shot at the 2 connecting bolts. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Replacing starters is so very rare, what did you do to it to cause it to fail?My oem has 310,000 miles and a tremendious amount of daily starts close to 46,000.

We almost never replace a 90-96 starter. Are you using a lift to gain easy access?

Not changing blue relay every 7 years or bad ignition switch?

Have no idea what caused it, this weekend it just stopped working, I'd get under the car and tap it with a hammer a couple of times, and it would start. Last night that stopped, and tried to replace it, but there's so much stuf in the way, I don't no where to begin to take it out. Already have the new starter ready to put in.

I did a search in Infiniti Online Mechanic with the search word "starter" and got about a dozen hits. This link looks like one that will help.

It was a PITA removing the starter but removing the heatshield opened things up. Still not much room to work. If I had it to do over again I would pay a shop to do it. I don't enjoy working under a car on jack stands. Good luck.

Thanks for the help, Yes that was without a doubt a huge P.I.T.A. I used an air ratchet to get the bolts off, which cut down on the install time. Pulling out the old starter, and putting in the new one was way to difficult. Your right, next time Im going to pay to have that done.
