I have long legs and big feet, so I find the gas pedal very thin and tucked too far away from the brake. Whenever I try to splay out my heel and hit the gas while braking, my heel grounds itself against the side of the trans tunnel or the carpet on the floor. I need to know if there are any nice pedal sets out there that widen the entire gas pedal or the bottom of the gas pedal on the left side, or if i should just buy a no-name set off of ebay. Thanks for the time.

Neel

instead of tryin to hit the gas with the heel, try using the widest part of your foot on both pedals. Think of it as keeping your foot inbetween the pedals and rollin it side to side

actually most reputable aftermarket pedals will have something to help you heel toe, which is exactly what you wanted... a larger gas pedal with a part that sticks out on the bottom left

Thanks, those CF sparco pedals are just what im looking for! If anyone has any experience with aftermarket pedals (installs, reviews, etc.), i'd greatly appreciate your input!

BTW, I tried using the wide part of my foot earlier and it just feels awkward, like my foot will slip off the brake at any instant. I think the Puma Speedcats that I drive in are too narrow for that sort of thing.

Try practicing the fat foot technique more before you spring for some pedals. With or without the aftermarket pedal jobs, you won't be able to truly "heel-toe" anyway, since you already know you run out of room in there real quick.

Thats not exactly the problem though. Since the stock pedal is so damn thin, i have to get my foot all the way out there and the right side of my heel hits the trans tunnel. If i had an extension on the left, i wouldnt have to kick my heel out far enough to hit the trans tunnel and i'd have ample room below the heel to get in there and tap the gas. Dig?

I would be alittle concerned with the gas pedal being so close to the brake pedal with those sparco thingy

that's just me though

anyways, I HEARD that the jdm gas pedal is closer to the brake pedal.... look into that

you can look at those long le mans style pedals. or just try practicing with left foot braking and right foot throttling instead.

Find someone that bought a motor swap in a clip. Grab the gas pedal. I have a 180SX gas pedal, and it is about 3/4"-1" closer to the brake now. Cost a whopping $15 + shipping. I first heard of this from Dave Coleman in Sport Compact Car and his Project Silvia.

Having said that, I still have to roll my foot. My issue is that the steering wheel hits my thigh mid heel-toe at the position that I like to have it, so I can't really move my leg that much.
