For some time now I have been having a rough idle on my 91 q. I replaced the injectors a while back and they ohm out ok. The plugs have about 20k on them. I took a laser temp gun and checked the exhuast temp on the manifold coming out of the head and all the cylnders are within 20 degrees of each other.

I am going to replace the o2 sensors since they are original to the car my thinking is maybe they are leaning out the mix at idle.

I found 2 different ones at sparkplug.com the borsch are twice the price of the ngks I read a old post where they may be made by the same people. Any ideas?

I went with the NGK {NTK is their name for their 02 sensor division} from sparkplugs.com for my 96q......they were the EXACT same sensor as from the Infiniti dealer, for about 30% of the price....fit perfectly, harness and plug were a direct no hassle fit.

I would not go with the Bosch, even if they were 1/2 the cost of the NGK!!

I would look first at your IAC valve first, then the rest of the intake path and fuel system.

On Q45 especially before 1994 O2 sensors are totally ignored by ecu at idle! 1994 and 95 are partially sampled so they could in very rare situations.

OBDII [1996 and later] play an increasing role.

Of course O2 sensors can affect cruise steady state rpm MPG by up to 20% as they can trim fuel injection by +-10% band to bank to compensate for injectors and dirty intake valves and passages.

alright got the new sensors installed. Kind of a pain in the butt but if you have a lift it makes it much easier. I was able to use the o2 socket and a couple of long extentions. Runs a lot better but the miss is still there I guess I will have to pull the plenum... SIGH
