Having Electrical Problems

my car is toast! this si my second day since the swap has been done, im driving along today and my friend goes to change cd's......the cd player spits out smoke and the whole electrical system goes nuts in my car... my guages wont work tach is fluttering. so i shut my car off, take a look and continue driving with the radio off...get 2 miles down the road and my belt starts skweeking so im like ok its loose again, pull donw the street to my friends house. i fix the belt start up my car and smoke pours out again! everyting is Fed, my headlights turn oun when i open my door, my interior light shuts off if both doors are open, my HUD and digital display dont work, my tach flutters and the engine sounds like its loosing power........EVERYTHING IS TOAST!! please help

it sounds like somewhere in a harness something shorted. thats probly what's making the alternator squeak, is its trying to do so much work feeding a dead short somewhere. or maybe the alternators voltage regulator is toast, and it was putting out like 18 volts at 3000rpm? that'd cause something to melt

what kind of squeek was it? every high pitched, like hurt the ears to listen to? cause mine was doing that when it was kinda running the other day....
