ok ,y 95 max was hit once before i got it pass side front bumper. there was a small tear in the bumper but it looked ok. some jackass stopped short in front of me and hit the bumper and hood. after some searching on the car i found i just needed a headlight, hood, bumper, and rad support.

well after i order the rad support i find out its welded in but the damage is just in the front so im gonna cut and weld off the new one so i dont have to brace the subframe. the bumper however has me perplexed. i spent an hour removing things and still havnt gotten it off. i think there are bolts behing the fenders that the 5yr olds on the assembly line had to put in cause i cant find a way and the pass side i cant reach 2 of the 3 bolts since the metal is all pressed in.

suggestions?

just wrote one in your intake manifold thread...but here it is:

the bumper is easy. after you take off the grille there's 3 screws on top and 3 on each side going into a lip on the fender. then just wiggle it loose from under the headlights.

moved over.

ok thats the bumper support aparently maybe i have the only max with bolts actually on the bumper cover to the fenders. sucks my garage is such a mess i wound up having to hit the hardware store for another 10mm gearwrench which worked ot since i found a sawzall and drill press both on clearance for $38 each. im sure the wife will be happy lol

yeah, i was talking about the bumper cover...what are you talking about the bolts from fender to bumper cover are easy - remove the splash shields from under the bumper, get down under the car and get your hand in there. the very top one might be some of an issue but the're not too bad.

btw after the bolts are out there's guide pins on both fenders that will still keep the bumper on - i just pried those off with a screwdriver.
